Hunters’ Cabin 

This project involved the construction of an architecturally designed six-bed back-country hut. While modest in scale, the design complexity and level of finish achieved reflect the skill, care, and attention to detail brought to the project by the delivery team. 

The interior features a beautifully executed plywood fit-out, complemented by bespoke, hand-crafted bunk units that maximise both function and comfort. A full-height entrance window frames sweeping views across the Kaikōura landscape, bringing light and a strong connection to the surrounding environment into the heart of the hut. Externally, a compact kwila deck provides a quiet place to sit and take in the views, completing the overall design. 

This was a project that celebrated craftsmanship and thoughtful detailing — a rewarding build for the team and one that stands as a testament to traditional carpentry skills applied in a unique and inspiring setting.
