Jordan Stream Bridge

Client - Kaikoura District Council

This project involved the removal of the existing bridge abutments and their replacement with new reinforced concrete abutments. The works included the installation of prefabricated steel beams, a timber bridge deck, and steel handrails.

Extensive river works were also undertaken to protect the new structure, including the placement of rock armour and the formation of an overflow channel to manage high-flow events and reduce scour risk.

All earthworks, river works, and lifting operations were completed using a single 20-tonne excavator. A three-person site crew successfully delivered the project on programme and within budget, resulting in a high-quality outcome and a satisfied client.
