Hunters’ Hut Relocation 

This project centred on the relocation of a remote back-country hut to a new site more than one kilometre from its original location. Set within rugged terrain, the move required careful planning and a team with the know-how. 

The hut was carefully separated from its original foundations and prepared for transport. Using an excavator, the structure was carefully guided across the landscape and positioned onto newly constructed timber pile foundations at its new location. Once relocated, a new deck and verandah were built to enhance usability, while extensive earthworks were carried out to establish safe and reliable access. 

This was a genuinely unique project, presenting logistical and technical challenges that fell well outside conventional construction work. The end result is a warm, functional hut thoughtfully positioned within its surroundings — a project defined by problem-solving, adaptability, and a truly remarkable setting, delivered to a very satisfied client.
