Garage and Sleep-Out Addition

Client – Baz Haywood

This project involved the architectural design and construction of a garage and sleep-out addition, featuring a stand-alone first-story deck with balustrade. The scope covered all standard residential building practices, including a waffle slab foundation, timber framing, colour steel cladding, internal linings such as gib, double-glazed windows, and H3.2 decking/sub-flooring for the deck.

Located in a busy coastal residential area, the project required meticulous attention to detail - particularly regarding external durability, coordination among subcontractors, and consideration for neighbouring properties. Given the site's proximity to the existing home, precise layout, careful scheduling, and respect for client privacy were essential.

Contour executed the build to a high standard, extending the rustic pine deck to connect both buildings and adding an ensuite to one of the existing bedrooms.
